Position: Trainee Estimator

We are now looking for an ambitious trainee estimator to join our Contracts team based in Bedwas, Caerphilly. The successful candidate will provide detailed estimates of cost and time to produce products and services – full training will be provided.

Description of main duties and key responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit quotations
• Collecting quotes from material suppliers
• Researching materials, equipment and labour costs
• Monitoring the stages of a project to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecast
• Assess levels of risk on a project

Essential criteria:

• Excellent mathematical and IT skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team
• Awareness of regulation and price and labour trends
• An organised and flexible approach to work and the ability to meet deadlines
• Full UK Driver’s Licence

Desirable criteria:

• Previous knowledge of industrial fencing industry
• Product knowledge
• Previous estimator knowledge

Starting salary will be at the current NMW
