Position: Contracts, Sales & Estimator – Leeds

We are a family owned business, founded in 1740. We supply and install Fencing, Gates & Street Furniture for a wide range of businesses and place great emphasis on both high product quality and outstanding customer service. We are now looking for an ambitious Sales & Estimating Manager to take on an exciting opportunity with a company that plans to grow aggressively over the next couple of years.

We require, for an immediate start an energetic, dynamic and proactive person to help lead and strengthen our existing sales and estimating team based in the Leeds area.

This is a very exciting position with prospects of progression for the right candidate, who will be joining us at a time when we are growing and expanding.

The Role/Skills/Experience required:

  • Producing high-value tenders covering all aspects of Fencing, Gates & Street Furniture.
  • Carefully inspecting tender documentation and analysing exact requirements and identify areas that we can provide quotations on.
  • Ensuring quotations are submitted professionally and accurately reflect and demonstrate what has been included.
  • Ability to extract information from tender drawings to allow quotations to be prepared and submitted.
  • Work from bills of quantities or simply tender drawings i.e. design & build basis.
  • Ability to maintain & develop professional relationships with current clients as well as sourcing new clients to help future business development.
  • Promote further tender invitations.
  • Manage the tender process.
  • You should be confident, reliable and a team player.
  • Excellent time management and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach.
  • Ability to work to strict often tight timescales/deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to ‘think outside the box’.
  • Self-motivated with the drive and enthusiasm to succeed.
  • Commercial Acumen.
  • Ability to liaise with people at all levels of seniority.
  • Proactive approach
  • Ability to consistently achieve individual sales and outperform KPI targets.
  • Experience in the construction industry is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Liaising with clients by phone and occasionally through site visits.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to think outside the box & value engineer schemes.
  • Chasing up clients for information/queries.
  • Attend tender review meetings on a daily basis with company directors to agree on prices prior to issuing quotations.

Salary: depending on experience, including discretionary departmental bonuses.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 16:30hrs and Friday 8:00 – 16:00hrs.

Job Type: Full-time / permanent, includes company vehicle.
